     Sealed Bids will be received by the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority, 13000 High Ridge Drive, Brighton, Michigan 48114-9058, until 2:00 P.M. (local time), Thursday, August 21, 2008 from prospective contractors able to show a reasonable acquaintance with and preparation for the proper performance of the work described herein. 

 

     The work includes furnishing all labor, equipment and materials necessary to complete  the installation of a centrally controlled decoder based irrigation system; for an established 18-hole regulation golf course, selective demolition of existing irrigation components, and all incidental construction necessary for a complete and usable system at Kensington  Metropark in Oakland County, Michigan.

 

     Bid Forms, Drawings and Specifications may be obtained at the above address on or after August 7, 2008.  Complete sets of Bidding Documents shall be used in preparing bids.  Neither the Owner nor its Consultants assume any responsibility for errors, omissions or misinterpretations resulting from the use of incomplete sets of Bidding Documents. 

 

     Bids shall be submitted on the form included in the bidding documents, and shall be accompanied by a Cashier’s Check, Certified Check or Bid Bond underwritten by a surety licensed in the State of Michigan, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid, as a guarantee that the successful bidder will enter into a contract.

 

     After the time of opening, no bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days.

 

     The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities and/or formalities and to make award in any manner deemed in the best interest of the Authority.
