Editor’s Note: Kensington Metropark’s fireworks were held on Saturday, June 16. They will not have fireworks over the Fourth of July holiday.
Fireworkswill keep all eyes glued to the skies at Kensington Metropark on June 16 and at five Huron-Clinton Metroparks for Fourth of July holiday fireworks. Each year, thousands of people flock to the Metroparks for fireworks. Plan to arrive at least two hours early due to crowd conditions.
New this year, there is a $10 special event daily vehicle permit required for vehicles entering after 5 pm at any Metropark hosting fireworks; entrance before 5 pm is $5. Park admission is free with an annual permit.
- LAKE ERIE METROPARK, in Brownstown– Saturday, June 30 at 10 pm. Flashback will perform from 6 pm to 9:30 pm. There is a $5 daily vehicle permit before 5 pm; $10 special event daily vehicle permit required after 5 pm; admission is free with an annual permit. - STONY CREEK METROPARK, near Rochester/Washington Township – Sunday, July 1 at 10 pm. There is a $5 daily vehicle permit before 5 pm; $10 special event daily vehicle permit required after 5 pm; admission is free with an annual permit. - LAKE ST. CLAIR METROPARK, near Mt. Clemens, Monday, July 2 at 10 pm. There is a $5 daily vehicle permit before 5 pm; $10 special event daily vehicle permit required after 5 pm; admission is free with an annual permit. For more information, call Lake St. Clair Metropark at 586-453-4581.
- HUDSON MILLS METROPARK, near Dexter/Ann Arbor – Tuesday, July 3 at 10 pm. A DJ provides music from 7 pm to 11 pm at the Activity Center with a break for fireworks at 10 pm. There is a $5 daily vehicle permit before 5 pm; $10 special event daily vehicle permit required after 5 pm; admission is free with an annual permit. - WILLOW METROPARK, near New Boston – Wednesday, July 4. Hidden Agenda and the Rick Lieder Band will perform from 5:30 pm to 11 pm with a break for fireworks at 10 pm.
