FALL PADDLE TOURS AT HUDSON MILLS

“River Ecology Paddle,” Saturday, September 27, 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., Dexter-Huron Metropark. River ecology, nature history and human influence will be the focus of this Huron River paddle trip from Dexter Huron Metropark to Hudson Mills Metropark. There will be stops along the river for a short plant hike and at the Dexter Cider Mill for cider and donuts. Adults only. Meet at the Dexter Huron Metropark public boat launch to be transported upstream to Hudson Mills Metropark. Fee: $45 per boat and program, donuts/cider extra. Pre-registration required.

“Fall Color Paddle,” Saturday, October 11, noon to 4 p.m., Activity Center. Hudson Mills Metropark to Dexter Huron Metropark is a beautiful stretch of river and one of southern Michigan’s jewels. Let’s hope Mother Nature will paint us some color for all to see! Bundle up because there may be a nip in the air. We’ll stop at the Dexter Cider Mill for cider and donuts. Meet at the Dexter Huron Metropark public boat launch to be transported upstream to Hudson Mills Metropark. Pick a canoe, single kayak or double kayak to paddle. Fee: $35/boat and program. Pre-registration required.
