Shelden Trails Project Update

The Shelden Trail Development Project has great momentum and we are excited to share that at the December meeting of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks Board of Commissioners, they approved the concept design provided by Applied Trail Research (ATR).

The new design will improve user safety and navigability, create a beginner loop that is family and handcycle friendly, create a single-track loop within the multi-use trail system while protecting the natural biodiversity of the landscape. ATR will be on-site again in early April to do field work and put together a construction schedule for the trail build, as well as host a volunteer trail building on Sunday, April 14. It is anticipated that the building the beginner loop will occur in the Fall.
