Fall in for some family fun at your Metroparks

When the temperatures begin to cool and the leaves begin to change, it’s time to create your fall bucket list.

Fall is an exciting and special season around the Metroparks,” said Amy McMillan, Director at the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority. “It’s a great time to visit the parks and experience the fun activities they have to offer, not to mention the special mix of colors that spread across the trees. There are chances for families and children of all ages to take advantage of the fun at their Metroparks.

Experiencing fall and all its beauty is easy at your Metroparks. You can Immerse yourself in nature as the colors change by hitting a trail to hike, bike, walk, run, or even rollerblade. Or take to the waters by kayak or canoe to see the colors reflected in its surface as you paddle along. Be sure to gather your friends and family for a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch to search for the best pumpkin. Or take the kids or grandkids for some trick-or treating along the trails or at a Farm Center. Learn about bird migration and just how far some of our winged creatures travel each season. Or learn the legends and history of Michigan on a lantern lit trail tour.

From strolling down a leaf strewn path to picking out the best pumpkin to your ghosts and goblins trick-or-treating on a nature trail, your Metroparks are the perfect place to check off some items on your fall bucket list.
