Squirrels of Oakwoods

On the nine species of squirrels found in Michigan, six of them live here at Oakwoods Metropark. The tree squirrels (fox squirrels, red squirrels, eastern gray squirrels, and southern flying squirrels) can be found in the may areas of the woods throughout the park. Our ground squirrels (eastern chipmunks and groundhogs) spend less time in the trees and more time on , or under, the ground. Chipmunks prefer the leaf litter of the woods, while groundhogs frequent the open fields and edges. How many species can you spot?
