Learn to See Winter Trees

You can gain a new skill that will enhance all your future park visits. A tree is just a tree until you learn to see it. During this guided hike, find out how to see the trees by their bark and buds. Get takeaways that you can practice anytime and make your next winter walk more interesting for yourself and your friends.

What to Expect:
This program is entirely outdoors. The time, approximately one and ½ hours, will be spent on a leisurely walk with frequent stops. Expect to walk about 1 mile. The planned path surface is dirt and gravel, frequently rolling or slightly hilly, not suitable for adaptive walking equipment. No prior experience is necessary. Group discussion will be encouraged.

Ages: 10 and up.
Time: 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Cost: $3 per child, $5 per adult
Location: Hudson Mills Metropark, River Grove Picnic Shelter

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program.
