Celebrate National Arbor Day and the Tree City USA project at Hudson Mills Metropark! Discover the importance of trees to human health and the environment. Learn how trees in our cities play both offense and defense against climate change. Find out if your hometown is a Tree City and how to support the community initiative. Experience a guided walk to see and learn to recognize the most common native tree species in our local forests. Get info you can use, such as which trees could easily be found for sale in our area, which might (or might not) do well in your own yard, and how to plant them, as well as other resources including where to get free trees!

What to Expect:
This program is entirely outdoors. Expect to walk about 1 mile. The planned path surface of the 6 p.m. session is dirt and gravel, frequently rolling or slightly hilly, not suitable for adaptive walking equipment. No prior experience is necessary. Group discussion will be encouraged.

Ages: 10 and up.
Time: 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Cost: $3 per child, $5 per adult
Location: Hudson Mills Metropark, River Grove Picnic Shelter

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program.
